FRESH: School Health Toolkit
Publication date:
2004
HHD staff assisted UNESCO in adapting tools for a school health website and CD-ROM toolkit. The project, called Focusing Resources on Effective School Health (FRESH), aimed to put user-friendly materials and lesson plans into the hands of people working in schools at the national, district, and local school levels. The materials are related to food, hygiene, and nutrition; HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections; drug, alcohol, and tobacco prevention; violence prevention; helminth infections; and malaria. We identified and adapted 25 tools that address two components of FRESH: skills-based health education and school health services.
