Native Streams Institute is a key initiative of EDC’s Health and Human Development Division. It is dedicated to creating a sustainable, thriving future for the next generations in Native communities. To do this effectively, Native Streams Institute works in partnership with Native communities providing customized services to local providers who influence the health and well-being of the community in order to create lasting change. The Institute also collaborates with state and federal organizations and with other Native organizations who are providing juvenile justice, suicide prevention, behavioral health, substance abuse prevention and intervention resources to Native communities. Native Streams Institute uses strategies to build organizational capacity, create communities of practice, enhance existing efforts, bridge new technologies and develop essential materials that will support Native communities on their path to healing and wellness.
