Funder:
U.S. Department of Education
This 16-hour training event is a foundational, interactive session for those beginning their campus and community prevention efforts. Offered exclusively online, it is provided by the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention. During the training, which is open for a two-week period, participants gain an understanding of the Center's environmental management framework and the basic concepts and skills necessary to develop a strategic plan to move their prevention efforts forward. By working with a detailed case study, participants learn about and practice applying the following: a process for problem analysis; a strategic planning protocol; concepts of campus and community readiness for change; and tools aimed at anticipating and managing resistance to change.
